About Satpura National Park
Satpura Tiger Reserve located in Satpura ranges of Central Indian Landscape, is one of the major geographical plateau of India in Madhya Pradesh. It is part of the Deccan bio-geographic zone of India. Satpura Tiger Reserve’s environment stands out by its exquisite natural beauty and showcases the importance of tourism of this place. . Spread over a sprawling 1427 sq. kms.; Satpura National Park was formed in 1981 with Satpura, Pachmari, and Bori sanctuaries with an altitude ranging from 300 to 1,352 meters.
Satpura Tiger Reserve Located in the south of the river Narmada, The forest of the Satpura ranges are rich in biodiversity and are inhabited by many endangered species. Keeping this specialty in mind, Satpura Tiger Reserve was declared as the first biosphere reserve of Madhya Pradesh in the year 1999. The high ranges of the Pachmarhi plateau are covered by Sal forests, whereas dense teak forests are spread over its lower hill ranges.
