About Keoladeo National Park
A ‘Bird Paradise’ born from a former duck hunting reserve. Since its transformation into a protected area in 1982, this unique wetland ecosystem has thrived, thanks to a carefully managed water supply and innovative water management system. The park’s clever design features dykes and sluices, creating a diverse range of water depths that attract a stunning array of avifauna, making it a true haven for birds and birdwatchers alike!”
It is a vast bird sanctuary and former royal game reserve in the north Indian state of Rajasthan. South of the ancient city of Bharatpur, the park’s woods and man-made wetlands protect over 350 species of migratory and resident birds, including herons, cormorants and eagles.
