Bird Watching Tour of Rajasthan




Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
On your arrival our representative will welcome you and take you to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, the guided sightseeing of Old & New Delhi covering, The Jama Masjid one of the architectural gift given by Shah Jahan, is one of the largest mosques not only in Delhi but in India, visit Chandni Chowk byrickshaw ride- One of the main markets of Delhi, Qutub Minar, one of the world’s heritage site - the victory tower, which Qutub-Ud-Din-Aibak built in 1199, after the Sultan of Delhi, he has become. Humayun's Tomb, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. Your next stop will be the India Gate (war memorial Arch) and the President House (from outside). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03: Delhi-Agra (210 km / 4 hr)
In morning, breakfast then we will drive to Agra en-route visiting Sikandra, Akbar’s Tomb. On arrival, at Agra check in to the hotel. Later set out for sightseeing tour of Agra Fort, Built by the great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D, is a master piece of design with beautiful mosques and palaces, visit Taj Mahal, blushing in the rosy glow of dawn. Taj Mahal:(Taj remains closed on Friday) renowned for its spectacular architecture, seven wonders of the world and built by Shah Jahan for his lady love Queen Mumtaz Mahal in 1632. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 04: Agra-Chambal Safari Lodge (70 km / 1½ hr)
In morning, after breakfast drive to Chambal Safari Lodge, upon arrival check in at lodge. Chambal Safari Lodge is home to numerous birds and small mammals. Evening Nature Walks around the Lodge, with resident Naturalist, are the best time to go looking for Palm Civet Cats, Jungle Cats, Foxes, Jungle Hares, Fruit Bats, Hedgehogs and the Indian Striped Hyenas. With a checklist of over 180 birds, birding in the Lodge grounds starts with the ‘wake-up call’ of the Barbets & Babblers, and continues through the day with the birdsong of the hornbills, koels and tree pies and well into the evening with the foraging fruits bats and hooting owls.  Overnight stay at Lodge.

Day 05: Chambal Safari Lodge - Bharatpur (125 km / an hr)
In morning, set out for Chambal River Safari for visit Dolphin and Crocodile. Later drive to Bharatpur on arrival checks in at hotel for 01 night. Later visit the Ghana Sanctuary along with the guide to experience the migratory birds and local as well. Here you will be the witness to watch Siberian Cranes and many more. The park accepted as World Heritage site in 1985. Overnight Stay in Bharatpur.

Day 06: Bharatpur-GHS- Jaipur (185 km/3 hr)
In morning, after breakfast drive to Jaipur en-route visit GHS (Garh Himmat Singh).  “GHS” for the lunch hosted by the local family and enjoy the local market visit and local administration office “Panchayat Bhawan. Later continue drive to Jaipur, upon arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07: Jaipur
In morning, after breakfast set for a visit to Amber Fort, which is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort and where the Elephant takes you from bottom to top of the hill at Amber fort. Afterwards visit City Palace –a delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, enjoy the elephant ride while ascending fort. In afternoon, a visit to City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. Evening proceed to visit migrate birds at Man Sagar Lake the Man Sagar Lake is new home for migrate birds these days. About 2,500 migratory birds can be seen against 10,000 birds reported a few years back. Diving shovellers, pintails, coots, resident ducks like spot-bill duck and common moorhen, and four species of egrets too can be seen though barely 400 in number.  Besides, the Lake forms part of Jaipur northern frontal facade, which is marked by hills, forests, forts, heritage buildings. About 2,500 migratory birds can be seen against 10,000 birds reported a few years back. Diving shovellers, pintails, coots, resident ducks like spot-bill duck and common moorhen, and four species of egrets too can be seen though barely 400 in number.  Besides, the Lake forms part of Jaipur northern frontal facade, which is marked by hills, forests, forts, heritage buildings. Day 08: Jaipur – Sambhar (40 km) – Kuchaman (180 km / 4 hr)
In morning, breakfast at hotel then after drive to Kuchaman En-route visit Sambhar Salt Lake. Its Well known for its sizeable population of flamingos, Sambhar Salt Lake is a wonderful place for an exciting birding holiday .The sambhar Lake is home good population of different avifauna like Flamingoes, Black headed gull and Northern Shoveller. About 45 species of water birds as duck, shorebirds and geese are spotted at Sambhar. Later continue drive to Kuchaman upon arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 09: Kuchaman – Tal Chapar – Gajner (165 km/ 2 hr 30 min)
After breakfast at hotel you will drive (178 km / 3 hrs) to Tal Chapar wildlife Sanctuary. Tal Chapar Wildlife Sanctuary (Churu District, Rajasthan) is one of the best open-secrets among birdwatchers and bird photographers in India.  This well protected grassland, home to more than 2500 Blackbucks (Antilope cervicapra), is also one of the best destinations in India to watch grassland birds – residents, migrants and passage migrants. Over 300 birds have been recorded at this place, including rarities like Lesser Kestrel, Spotted Creeper, Sociable Lapwing, Red Phalarope, Yellow-eyed Pigeon, Punjab Raven and Stoliczka’s Bushchat. By November, most of the birds migrating to Tal Chapar in winter would’ve arrived from their breeding homes in Central Asia and Europe. This is also one of the places where the once-widespread Laggar Falcon can be seen. The rare Lesser Kestrel, along with the Common Kestrel, can be seen hovering over the grassland zeroing in on their prey. Later continue drive to Gajner, upon arrival check in hotel. Overnight stay at Gajner

Day 10: Gajner – Phalodi (138 km / 2 hr)
In morning, after breakfast proceeds for wildlife sanctuary of Gajner.  The Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary in Bikaner is home to a unique and varied wildlife, which includes Indian Hares, Nilgai (Blue Bulls), Desert Foxes, Chinkaras, Black Bucks, Wild Boars, Deer and Antelopes etc. The beautiful Gajner Lake attracts thousands of migratory water birds like Imperial Sand Grouses during the winters. The sanctuary provides an ideal opportunity to watch and photograph Imperial Sand Grouses who migrate here from as far as Siberia. Later drive to Phalodi, upon arrival checks in at hotel. Overnight stay at Phalodi.

Day 11:  Phalodi – Sam Village (208 km / 4 hr)
After breakfast drive to Kheechan to watch the famous bird and the place famed for Demoiselle Cranes.  
In India the bird is known by the Bird watching fraternity as Kurjan (called so because it makes a noise that sounds like kurr-kurr), Karkara and Kunch. Later drive to Jaisalmer, upon arrival checks in at Desert Camp.  Enjoy camel ride on sand dunes by Sunset. And reach your camp site for an Overnight stay at camp.

Day 12:  Sam Village – Jaisalmer (40 km / 1 hr)
After breakfast at hotel drive to Jaisalmer. Up-on arrival check-in at hotel for 01 night stay. Later proceed for sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer which includes: Jaisalmer Fort - Jaisalmer fort is the second oldest in Rajasthan Salem Singh Haveli - It is at an unhurried pace that the havelis (houses of rich merchants) should be seen and admired. These havelis are the pride of Jaisalmer architecture, a part of the national heritage.  Patwon ki Havel Near the city center is the Patwon ki Haveli. Later drive to Desert National Park, her you will see the great Indian Bustard. The great Indian Bustard is a magnificent bird and can be seen in considerably good numbers. It migrates locally in different seasons. The region is a heaven for migratory and resident birds of the desert. One can see many Eagles, Harriers, Falcons, Buzzards, Kestrel and Vultures. Short- toed Eagles, Tawny Eagles, Spotted Eagles, Laager Falcons and Kestrels are the most common among these. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 13: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (270 km / 5 hr)
After breakfast at hotel drive to Jodhpur. Up-on arrival check in at hotel for 01 night stay. Jodhpur "The Sun City" was founded by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rathore clan, in 1459. Jodhpur is the second largest city in Rajasthan. It is divided into two parts – the old city and the new city. The old city is separated by a 10 km long wall surrounding it. Later set out for sightseeing for Jodhpur city covering Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and Umaid Bhavan Palace. Overnight stay at Jodhpur.

Day 14: Jodhpur – Chhatra Sagar (90 km/2 hr)
In morning, after breakfast drive to Chhatra Sagar, upon arrival check in at Camp. Later Proceed for bird watching tour visit water bird, Eagles, Tawny Eagles.  Overnight Stay in Camp.

Day 15: Chhatra Sagar - Udaipur (235 km / 5 hr)
In morning, breakfast at Camp, later drive to Udaipur. On arrival, check in hotel. Later in Evening Boat Ride at Lake Pichola. Overnight Stay in Udaipur.

Day 16: Udaipur
In morning, after breakfast at hotel. You will be proceeding for a guided sightseeing tour of Udaipur Covering City Palace, on the banks of the Lake Pichola. The magnificent and awe inspiring citadel is, in fact, a complex of several buildings that were added at different times by different rulers spanning nearly three hundred years. Bharatiya Lok Kala Museum houses a very interesting collection of Rajasthani folk art – costumes, paintings, folk deities, musical instruments, masks, dolls and weapons. You could also spend some quiet moments at the Sahelion ki Bari, (Garden of the Maids of Honour), a small ornamental garden with. Fountains, once the site for royal picnics. The Jagdish Temple, built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh, is located within easy walking distance from the Palace gate. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 17:  Udaipur – Bhainsrorgarh (260 km / 5 hr)
In morning, after breakfast drive to Bhainsrorgarh, upon arrival check in at hotel. Later in Evening Boat ride at Chambal River. Overnight stay in Fort.

Day 18: Bhainsrorgarh – Ranthambhore (200 km / 4 hr)
In morning, after breakfast, proceed for morning Safari in Mukundarah NationalPark for birding and the exploring the scenic jungles could be a part of your stay at Bhaisrorgarh. On rare occasions you may be graced with the sight of a panther. Later drive to Ranthambhore, upon arrival checks in at hotel. Overnight stay in Ranthambhore.                                                             
Day 19: Ranthambhore
In morning, set out for Jeep safari. The wildlife sanctuary at Ranthambore is India’s internationally known tiger reserve, under Project Tiger. It is the best preserved forest to spot the Indian tiger in its natural habitat. It is home to a large variety of other animals in its 392 sq. km area. One can spot Sambhar, Cheetal, Hyena and many other wild species and back to hotel. Later in evening you can enjoy one more jeep Safari. Overnight stay in Ranthambhore.

Day 20: Ranthambhore – Sariska (240 km / 5 hr)
In morning, after breakfast drive to Sariska. Sariska National Park is located in Aravalli hill ranges, in the Alwar district, of Rajasthan. Sariska was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1958 and it came under the “Project Tiger” as a Sariska Tiger Reserve in 1979. Sariska National Park has few tigers but is home to numerous other animals, such as Leopards, Wild Dogs, Jungle Cats, Hyenas, Jackals, Sambars, Chitals, Nilgais, Chausinghas, Wild Boars and Langurs. Sariska is also famous for its large Rhesus Monkey population. The park is home to varied bird life, which includes Grey Partridge, Peafowl Bush Quail, Great Indian Horned Owl, Golden Backed Wood Pecker, and the Eagle Sand Grouse. Afternoon – Go for a jungle safari. Overnight stay at Sariska.

Day 21: Sariska – Delhi (170 km / 4 hr)
In morning, after breakfast go for a Jungle Safari and later enjoy boating at the Siliserh Lake, which is surrounded by a ring of beautiful low mountains. Later in afternoon drive to Delhi. Upon arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 22: Delhi
In morning, after breakfast we leave for IGI airport.
